NHS Essential Services
By aligning our practices with NHS guidelines and standards, we strive to complement and enhance the broader healthcare system, contributing to improved outcomes and patient experiences. Through open communication, mutual respect, and a shared dedication to patient-centered care, we work hand in hand with the NHS to deliver comprehensive, integrated healthcare solutions that meet the evolving needs of our communities.
Dispensing
One Stop Pharmacy dispenses medicines on NHS and private prescriptions. We ensure patients get the right information on the correct use of their medication. Our team keeps a confidential computerised record of the prescriptions and use this to assess potential interactions or side effects, both for prescribed medication and give advice offered on non-prescription products.
Delivering
We provide a free delivery service to all patients receiving NHS prescriptions.
Disposal of unwanted medicines
We will dispose safely of patient's unwanted medication.
Promotion of healthy lifestyles
We provide opportunistic advice on healthy lifestyle topics over the telephone.
Support for self-care
We provide self-care advice on managing long-term conditions and minor illnesses through telephone communication. We signpost or refer patients to other health professionals or organisations, for further support, advice or treatment when required.
Support for people with disabilities
Our pharmacy is compliant and in line with the Disability Discrimination Act. Various compliance devices and aids are also available.
Clinical Governance
Our pharmacy is committed to continually improving our services through the application of clinical governance and complies with the Data Protection Act and the NHS code of confidentiality.
Discharge Medicines Service
Our pharmacists will be able to help support you once you have been discharged from hospital through the Discharge Medicines Service. We will:
- help optimise the use your medicines
- improve your understanding of the medicines you are prescribed and ensure you know how to take them following discharge
